I was hired to re-launch the Normalboots YouTube channel after being dormant for a while. The plan was to come up with a new visual identity and adapt the existing shows to match that identity. Then, add new shows to leverage new talent and keep up with modern content formats.
The project started with the visual rebrand. We wanted a very 90s, retro, gaming/arcade aesthetic so I hand-picked a graphic designer, named Ann Tamaki, with experience designing in the Neo Memphis style that informed that era of marketing in entertainment. While she had to leave the project early due to unrelated issues, the illustrator who introduced us, Kelly Mai, was able to finish the design. The results were exactly what we were looking for!
NB's mainstay show was a show called Madness, which I helped design in its original form, and we had discussed bringing it back but then Covid hit. Instead, we opted to make Peanutbuttergamer's Minecraft Hardcore series, which I produced, an NB show, and added my original show Gamer Tiers to the launch lineup.
